“We all float” really was an unfortunate terrifying tagline for a monster that lives in a sewer.

This has always bugged me about Back to the Future. Doc is always ragging on Marty for not thinking fourth dimensionally when Doc Brown is the worst offender of all. The DeLorean in the movie clearly moves through time but not space. The problem is that the earth in 1985 isn’t in the same spot in its orbit or axial rotation as it was in 1955. The sun isn’t in the same position relative to the rest of the galaxy. The galaxy isn’t in the same position relative to other galaxies.

You have all of these objects moving at ridiculously fast speeds on an astronomical scale. We usually don’t think about it because the movement is on such a vast scale that we don’t notice it, but if you were in a machine that traveled through time but not space then the relative positions of astronomical objects would quickly become a very big and very deadly problem.

Or maybe I’m just overthinking things.

I’ve been working on updating a story comic over at Avallanath for the past few weeks after switching between stories and a one panel gag-a-day format for a couple of months at the end of 2011. I’m set on telling the story over there, but I still find myself coming up with silly and funny little comics that I can quickly dash off between pages while I’m drawing Avalla. This domain has been sitting unused and gathering dust for a couple of years now so I decided I’d toss those doodles up here. I hope you enjoy them!
